They have been doing this since ages and only filtered view of punjab or better north india is potrayed all over the country. 

I was shocked when I went to college in mumbai and all they know is punjab is drug overdosed state and everyone wants khalistan. We have not speaken before but now we should. 

But most of the countries media is in the hand of our lord and saviour Mr. Gobhi Ji. I guess that's enough.

Please work on your comprehension before posting such nonsense. The map isn’t meant to list every flooded area,  it’s meant to track river systems currently at dangerous levels. Punjab is already flooded, which is tragic, but that doesn’t mean the map is ignoring it. It only means the rivers there have already crossed the danger point.
